Van Wert Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 681, in proud partnership with the Van Wert Fire Department, are breaking the silence surrounding mental health in first responders.

Police, Fire, and EMS personnel face unimaginable challenges every single day—calls that haunt, images that linger, and weight that doesn’t go away when the shift ends. For far too long, mental health struggles have been hidden in the shadows. We believe it’s time to bring them into the light.

That’s why we’re proud to announce that Travis Howze, a nationally recognized advocate for first responder mental health, is coming to Van Wert this November. His powerful story and message are helping departments across the country shatter stigma and start healing.

To support this mission, we’ve launched a limited-edition t-shirt. With every purchase, a portion of the proceeds will go directly toward providing mental health support and resources for local first responders.
